A new family-friendly escape room within Z-arts, Manchester’s arts centre for young people!
Calling eager escapers, crafty code breakers and daring decipherers.
Z-escape: The Library of Enchantment is a brand new multi-themed escape room created especially for families and young people.
Whilst other escape rooms are simply ‘suitable for children’, this one was co-created with local families, ensuring it hits the mark with tweens, teens, parents and younger siblings alike.
Pushing your skills of observation, teamwork and lateral thinking to the max, can you solve a series of baffling clues, riddles and puzzles to unlock a succession of doors?
Passing between a number of rooms with different themes, you will be guided on your adventure by the befuddled but friendly Librarian. They are on your side and will help as much or as little as you require, keeping one eye on the clock as the 60-minute timer ticks down.
Can you work together to help capture Billi the bookworm and put him back safely in his home? The Library Inspector is on their way and will close the library down forever if they find him feasting on the books.
Everyone is invited to play Z-escape: The Library of Enchantment. Children as young as eight can enter the rooms without an adult, as they will be accompanied throughout by the Librarian. Children aged 6+ can enjoy the adventure as part of a family group.
The Library’s puzzles are complex enough to challenge escape room fans of all ages: teenagers and adults will be tested to the mettle and younger puzzlers will still find them rewardingly resolvable with a few well-placed pointers from the Librarian.
But before you embark on your rescue mission, you must gather a crack team of between three and eight super-solvers!
Romona, age 9, said: “Can we do it again!? “1000/10”
Martha, age 11, said: “This is the best escape room ever. I loved unlocking the doors to discover all the different rooms”.
Sara, Mum to an 11-year-old and a 14-year-old, said: “We spent the perfect hour, dashing round the rooms against the clock, arguing, throwing ideas around, laughing and ultimately working together to solve the clues. The puzzles allowed each of us to play to our strengths and we left feeling we had all played our role in solving the mystery. We talked about it for the rest of the day.”
