The weather is getting better and the summer holidays are fast approaching, today (Saturday 1 July) is our fabulous annual festival Hulme is Where the Art Is! HIWTAI has really got us in the mood for summer activities, here’s a round up of everything that’s going on over July and August!

A free day out for the curious of all ages.
Haphazard returns for 2023! Intriguing images and offbeat oddities will be dotted around the historic Z-arts building. Playful, quirky, engaging and sometimes plain daft: it’s an afternoon for everyone to enjoy.

Holiday activities to keep your little ones busy, active and engaged in the summer holidays. There will be a mixture of sessions in arts & crafts, drama, dance & movement and music.
Places are offered to children who receive free school meals.

Story Walk
Across the summer | For all the family!
Z-arts Story Walk features the gorgeous book, Grandad’s Secret Giant by David Litchfield and is a way for families to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. There are quizzes and activities to complete along the way!
Fairy Tales
Various dates available | For 0-8 year olds and their grown ups
Fairy Tales is our interactive world of play and storytelling.
Step into a fairy tale town and through into the woods to discover a world of giants, palaces, gingerbread houses and treasure caves. Trip trap over a bridge (but watch out for the troll!), join in the palace disco with the musicians of Bremen, sit in a giant’s footprint, visit the market and help Jack win some magic beans, and much more.
The Library of Enchantment

Ever wanted to step inside a story? The Library of Enchantment is a fun-filled thrilling family-friendly escape room, full of seafaring adventures, time travelling tricks and a pesky old bookworm who’s always up to meddlesome mischief!
Join us for an enchanting experience that requires your puzzling skills, logic, persistence and, most of all, teamwork.
