‘Ignition’ – Celebrating International Women’s Day in Hulme

To celebrate International Women’s Day organisations in Hulme came together for Ignition – an afternoon of workshops and activities aimed at engaging and empowering women. Some of the Z-arts team took part in a special Q&A about women in the arts.

The Q&A provided an opportunity for the local community to find out about local arts networks, Z-arts, arts opportunities in Hulme, and the personal experiences of our staff members.  It was a chance for people to ask questions about Z-arts and, most importantly, about opportunities and career experience of women in the arts.

Z-arts are dedicated to inspiring and encouraging local girls and women to consider the arts and to open new conversations with the community about the power of art.

On the panel were:

Yemi – Engagement Officer and Volunteer Co-ordinator
Gill – Assistant Creative Manager + VA
Rebecca – Arts graduate and Arts Administrator
Tsana – Singer, mother and music leader
