Breathing Fire Playback Theatre company, the UK’s only all Black Women’s Theatre company, looks forward to returning to Manchester STUN @ Z-arts for the third year running, on this occasion as part of our ‘Windrush’ tour for Black History Month.

We will be running a free workshop followed by free theatre performance.

Our Playback performance: this will be unique, interactive and improvised. We are aware that the theme of Windrush and promises of gold paved streets raises diverse opinions and touches on a range of experiences for many. In this mix, Breathing Fire artists will use, as their script, your stories and experiences linked to the Windrush theme that are shared at the performance. Breathing Fire will re-create them through drama, music and poetry. We all have stories to share. Some may tell; some may listen; all will witness and all will learn from our audience inspired performances.

We look forward to an exceptional time with our Manchester audience where we aim to honour your stories as recognised in the African Griot tradition.
