At Z-arts, we believe the future belongs to young people—and their voices should lead the way! That’s why our work experience program is anything but ordinary. 

Throughout the academic year, we welcome Y10 students from local partner high schools, immersing them in a hands-on, ever changing experience where they don’t just observe—they create. We give them a real-life brief, to work together to design and deliver a family-friendly event by the end of the week. Along the way, they explore behind-the-scenes roles, meet the Z-arts team, and gain insight into diverse career paths in the arts as well as meeting and working with other young people.  

It’s an exciting, fast-paced journey of learning by doing—an opportunity to step up, take charge, and bring their creative ideas to life!  

Each year brings a whole new vibe, shaped by the fresh ideas and creativity of the young people involved! With the freedom to take ownership of the project, they get to make it their own while being guided and supported by the Z-arts Creative Team. It’s a thrilling mix of independence, collaboration, and hands-on experience—ensuring every year is unique, exciting, and full of creative energy!  

We also actively encourage children who have attended after school/holiday or family workshops here when they were younger and who are interested in the arts to enquire about work experience with us. We would love to support our local children in gaining valuable experience in the arts, where they already feel safe and have a connection to.
