Z-arts has always supported the mental health and wellbeing of our families. That is why we’re teaming up with Company Chameleon for a brand new project around mental health and wellbeing during the lockdown.
This Mental Health Week, we’re asking people to share their experiences, feelings and thoughts on life in lockdown. We want to know how social distancing and self isolation has effected family life and mental health.
We are asking our families to get lost in their creativity to explore and share how they’re feeling. You could write a poem, a story, draw a picture or create a dance – it’s up to you!
Together, these stories will create the basis of a new dance project, choreographed by Company Chameleon – so get involved for the chance to have your voice heard through the Manchester dance company’s latest work.
The dance duet will form part of a new Manchester schools project, which will include performances and workshops exploring how changes in our lives can impact our mental health, and how we can express our thoughts and feelings through creative dance and the arts – something we know is really important to our families.
What is your lockdown story?
Company Chameleon and Z-arts would love to hear more about your experiences, feelings and thoughts on living in lockdown.
Send your responses on email to nicola@companychameleon.com or share on social media using the hashtag #lockdownstories, tagging Company Chameleon and Z-arts.
This is one of 40 new projects taking place in and around 40 arts centres as part of Here and Now, a national and local celebration of culture within communities.
