This event will run on Tuesday 1st December,  4 – 7pm and is suitable for ages 16+.

This songwriting masterclass is for those who already have experience and understanding of writing lyrics but want to take their skills to the next level. Pops & Berry Blacc, two artists who understand the world of wordplay and verse, will share their tips, tricks and techniques on how they craft their lyrics. There will also be an opportunity for you to share your work with the artists and get advice on how to develop your style. Whether you are a rapper, singer or something else, having access to the combined knowledge of these two amazing artists would benefit any artist. 

Pops Roberts is a DJ, producer and vocalist who fronts Mancunian band lovescene. With years of experience working in the music industry as an artist & songwriter, Pops has a wealth of knowledge ready to pass on. As a music educator she has worked across the country and internationally and has worked extensively in Manchester with Z-arts & Brighter Sound. She also co founded the Marcus Intalex Music Foundation. 

Berry Blacc is a Manchester born rapper and vocalist known for his clever wordplay and versatility. Berry has released music with Manchester heavyweights The Mouse Outfit & Werkha, and released his own self produced album ‘From Maia’ in 2018.

The masterclass is absolutely free but places are limited. To sign up please email jack@z-arts.org with your name, age and a couple of sentences about you as an artist, for example what kind of music you make, what your biggest achievements so far have been, etc. 

The event will take place on Zoom, but don’t worry, you do not need an account to participate. We will send you the link on the day of the event.
