Our festive appeal is now open!
Christmas is a time for creating fantastic memories that can last a lifetime. Our festive appeal will raise money so that children across Manchester with experience of being in care can come to see the hilarious and uplifting re-telling of Black Beauty at Z-arts this Christmas time.
Last year, we aimed to raise £2000 for our festive appeal. With the help of our amazing audiences, we reached that target and exceeded it, raising £2115.64 in total.
That £2115.64 provided tickets and an interval treat, as well as Bright Sparks memberships, for around 100 children and their carer/support workers to attend Little Red and the Big Bad Wolf or one of our other shows in the January 2017 season. The Bright Sparks memberships also gave them access to free dance, drama, arts and music classes for a year. Thanks to Arts Council:Catalyst funding each donation was generously matched, proving additional funds for Z-arts regular activity for local families to access. We were also pleased to receive a donation from a Bolton based company, who saw the Facebook appeal and donated £240 from a staff fundraiser.
Actress Cherylee Houston (Coronation Street) launched the campaign last year saying: “This is an incredible campaign giving children in Manchester a fantastic, theatre filled evening.”
This year, we hope to raise even more so that we can offer a special Christmas treat to children and young people with experience of care. If you’re interested in donating, you can add a donation to your order when you book at Box Office.
The money you donate will go towards tickets for children, their carers and supporters, and an interval treat! Anything that you can afford to give will be greatly appreciated and go towards creating amazing memories for so many people.
